The brief

A City practice wanted two adjoining surgeries refurbished without closing — including provision for a wall-mounted X-ray tube head, which needed proper structural backing rather than fixing into plasterboard.

The work

Floors were lifted room by room so new drainage, water and electrical runs could be taken under the finished level instead of surface-mounted. A reinforced wall build-up was formed and made good for the X-ray tube head mounting. Cabinetry was installed with continuous worktops and integrated basins, walls were finished in a washable duck-egg scheme, and the floors laid in welded safety vinyl coved up to the skirting.

The result

Two matched surgeries with the X-ray provision built in from the start, finished so every surface can be wiped down and nothing is left exposed.
