What we collect
We only collect what you type into a form on this site. We do not buy lists, we do not track you across other websites, and we do not build a profile of you.
Enquiry form
Your first and last name, email address, phone number, postcode, the service you are asking about, and anything you write in the message box.
Loft and extension cost calculators
Your name, email address, phone number and postcode, when you are planning to start, your budget range, anything you write in the message box, and the options you selected in the calculator together with the estimate it produced. We need the estimate so that when we call you back we are talking about the same project you priced.
Dental practice enquiry form
Your name, email address, phone number, the name of your practice, how many surgeries are involved, the type of project, and anything you write in the message box.
Information collected automatically
Our hosting provider records standard server information for every visit — IP address, browser type, the pages requested and the time of the request. This is used to keep the site running and secure. We do not use it to identify you and we do not combine it with anything you send us.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
- To answer your enquiry and quote your project. Our lawful basis is legitimate interest: you contacted a builder about building work, so you expect a builder to reply. Where your enquiry leads to a job, we rely on performance of a contract.
- To follow up on a quote we have sent you. Legitimate interest. If you tell us to stop, we stop.
- To keep records of work carried out. Legal obligation, for tax, VAT and insurance purposes.
We do not send marketing emails or newsletters. We will not add you to any mailing list.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your information and we do not share it for anyone else’s marketing. It reaches only:
- Resend — the service that delivers the email from the website form to our inbox. Your enquiry passes through their systems, which are located outside the UK. Transfers are covered by the standard contractual clauses in their terms.
- Vercel — our website host. They process the standard server information described above.
- Google Analytics — counts visits and tells us which pages are used. It does not receive anything you type into a form. See our cookie policy for the cookies it sets and how to opt out.
- Our trade partners — only where your project needs a specialist (for example an electrician or a structural engineer), and only the details they need to do the work.
- Our accountant, and HMRC — where the enquiry became a paid job and the records are required by law.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not become jobs: two years, then deleted. People often come back to a project a year or two later and it helps to have the history.
- Enquiries that become jobs: seven years after the work is completed, as required for tax and insurance records.
- Server logs: kept by our host for a short period and then deleted automatically.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us to:
- give you a copy of the information we hold about you
- correct anything that is wrong
- delete your information, where we are not required to keep it
- stop using it, or restrict how we use it
- send it to you or to someone else in a portable format
You can also object to us processing your information on the basis of legitimate interest. Email admin@maycor.co.uk and we will respond within one month, free of charge.
If you are not happy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would rather you came to us first so we can put it right.
Keeping it safe
The site is served over an encrypted connection. Form submissions are sent to a mailbox that only we have access to. We do not store your enquiry in a public database on this website.
Cookies
This site does not use advertising or tracking cookies. See our cookie policy for the full detail.
Children
This site is aimed at property owners and businesses. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Changes
If we change how we handle your information we will update this page and change the date at the top.
